This is an opportunity to join our dynamic and progressive planning team, working to deliver new opportunities, homes and jobs for our local communities. We are looking for an enthusiastic development management planner who shares our passion and vision for drawing on Enfield’s existing green, blue and heritage assets to inspire and enable new high-quality places. As part of an accomplished multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with innovative built and natural environment specialists to champion high quality development. We encourage candidates who are keen to build up experience working, in support of the Strategic Applications Team, on a range of high-profile large scale major and strategic applications. Including town centre schemes, corporate projects and a chance to work on one of the UK’s most ambitious new neighbourhoods.
Enfield is a dynamic and progressive London Borough with excellent links to the city and central areas as well as Hertfordshire and Essex. With the focus for London’s future growth on outer London and recognising its location along the strategically important London - Stansted corridor, there are a range of significant development opportunities. We want your skills and vision to help realise their potential.
Headlining our ambitious growth agenda is the Borough’s largest residential led mixed use development at Meridian Water where our aspiration is to deliver upwards of 10000 new homes and 6000 jobs. Alongside new public open spaces, shops, community facilities and a new railway station, this is a key opportunity to shape and deliver a landmark residential scheme within London.
Our ambitions don’t end there as we are in discussions on several major regeneration schemes across the Borough including proposals for Enfield Town, Brimsdown, Edmonton and Southgate to deliver new high-quality mixed use residential led development which meets the modern housing and employment needs of our residents.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting progress on several key regeneration projects, with a focus on larger strategic / corporate schemes, delivering high quality development outcomes successfully through the statutory development management process.
Excellent customer focus is essential as is your ability to manage these projects to agreed timescales and quality criteria. For this role you will need to be confident and effective in dealing with applicants and their agents, Councillors, residents and other key stakeholders.
Successful candidates will have acquired practical experience within a development management environment with a solid track record project managing planning applications through the planning process and achieving high quality outcomes. In addition, you will have a degree in Town and Country Planning and will have worked in development management at a local authority in the UK over a sustained period coupled with a knowledge of planning legislation.
To help you help us, we can offer opportunities for personal development including flexible working or compressed hours, home working opportunities, generous annual leave, training opportunities and a friendly working environment.
