Join us and share your experiences working with members, senior officers and the Executive to achieve great outcomes for our residents. The Scrutiny Officer leads our scrutiny team within Democratic Services and works closely with the head of service, politicians and senior officers. Often acting as a liaison between members, residents, partner organisations, the Executive and senior officers; the role requires both the ability to analyse large amounts of information and the integrity and judgement needed to command the respect and confidence of those stakeholders.
Working with stakeholders, the post-holder will develop practical and specific scoping documents to support effective scrutiny reviews. You will bring together expert witnesses, service users and robust evidence to deliver sound, clear reports and recommendations leading to real improvements for residents.
The role involves evening meetings and is offered as a permanent contract. Flexible working is available, encouraged, and supported at Waltham Forest.
