Housing and Homelessness – Assistant Transformation Project Manager (12 months initially with the possibility of extension)

About us

Tower Hamlets is one of London’s most diverse, vibrant boroughs. It’s a melting pot of creativity, enterprise and cultural life that brings the best of London together in just eight square miles. It’s also a borough of contrasts, and as a Council, we know that Tower Hamlets is on a vital journey of improvement. There are tough challenges we need to tackle, but with that comes a unique opportunity to make a real impact. We’re changing – rapidly. This is a place where people make things happen. Where everyone works together with zeal, passion, and pride. As an employer, we can offer a generous annual leave package, competitive pension, and flexible working.

About the role

As part of the Council’s major new Homelessness Transformation Programme, you will lead on workstreams and projects and assist in the development and delivery of the transformation programme. Using accredited project management principles, you will scope, plan and implement workstreams and work packages within the Housing Options service area. Coordinating the work of a project team, including  set up and facilitation of  project team meetings, workshops, and working groups will be required, as well as effective stakeholder engagement with staff, senior managers in the service area and the Council more widely.

A confident, experienced, and adaptable self-starter, able to work proactively and on your own initiative, you will relish the opportunity to lead and deliver projects that contribute to wider service improvements and efficiencies and will be comfortable with working at the forefront of change within a team that is target and goal driven. Knowledge of housing and homelessness is not essential, rather you will be empathetic to the needs and challenges of homeless people and committed to delivering projects that improve the Council’s service response to this group.
