Do you have experience of project coordination and working with a range of stakeholders towards delivering health improvement outcomes?

The London Borough of Waltham Forest is excited to be able to offer a new role of Public Health Project Officer to support the new funding streams and their related projects under the Substance Misuse portfolio which are part of a national strategy to help improve drug and alcohol outcomes.

Working under the management of the Public Health Strategist or Senior Public Health Strategist, the postholder will need to link in with other priority areas within the substance misuse portfolio and overall strategy. The role will involve close working with the local drug and alcohol treatment service, mental health services, criminal justice, hospital and primary care leads and other partners, including within the community and voluntary sector.

This will involve regular correspondence and liaison with stakeholders, supporting and coordinating others involved in grant project implementation, maintaining performance and financial records linked to progression of the projects and identifying gaps or issues to be addressed.

The postholder will also lead on monitoring progress and KPIs for each project and carry out research as needed to support timely and effective implementation of the projects

We are looking for a self-motivated and organised individual with experience and knowledge in coordinating, managing or supporting project implementation in the public health field. The postholder will be an individual who is keen to be part of the development of this new area of public health work, with experience in stakeholder management and team working. The role will involve hybrid working from home and from Waltham Forest Town Hall, with the possibility of a small proportion of work at other sites in the local community.
