Job introduction

Outreach is a small but dynamic service. We enjoy making a difference to children and their families lives. We mainly do community based activities, which is tailored to the young person’s interest and needs. The sessions that we offer tend to be for up to three hours, .

We take young people out after school/college Monday-Thursday and during the day on weekends and in the school holidays for a few hours at a time.

Some of these young people have their own vehicle so being a driver is desirable.

About the role

As a member of the team you will:-

  • Be committed to providing opportunities for inclusion of the young people within the service and out in the community.
  • Support individuals to communicate verbally and non-verbally via communication aids.
  • Have experience of working with people with disabilities or an interest in this area.
  • Be able to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
  • Be able to support young people with complex needs in all aspects of their daily living.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
