About us

Hillingdon Council: Putting our Residents first.

About the role

Hillingdon Museums, based in Uxbridge and Ruislip, run the Battle of Britain Bunker, London Borough of Hillingdon's exhibitions and the Manor Farm House interpretation centre. We have ambitious plans to expand over the next few years.

The Battle of Britain Bunker and visitor centre offers members of the public a unique heritage experience tied to a momentous period in national history. Our new state-of-the-art visitor centre accompanies the original 1940s RAF Bunker, from which key parts of the Battle of Britain and D-Day were directed.

About you

- Handle cash and tills, and support our customers and volunteers on site, resolving problems as and when they arise.

- Work to a high level of customer service providing information, assistance and support to a wide and diverse range of clientele.

- Assist and maintain the efficient operation of the buildings and sites for the benefit of all users.

- You are committed to providing members of the public with a positive experience of our museum.

- A confident communicator, customer care and teamwork are your strong suit. You are able to work a variety of flexible hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Your proactive approach is supported by a positive "can do" attitude.

- You have an up-to-date Emergency First Aid certificate or are willing to obtain this. You have a firm understanding of health and safety gained through practical experience in buildings open to the public.
