About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to work in our school admissions team.

This is a highly pressured environment as part of a front line team which handles over 7500 school applications for a school place each year and several hundred telephone and email enquiries every week.

To be considered for this challenging role, you will have previous experience in a local authority or school context, a background in school admissions and possess excellent organisational skills with the ability to work flexibly within a time critical environment. You must also be an excellent communicator with good analytical skills and the ability to present information to a variety of different groups.   Experience of dealing and working with the general public, an ability to work under your own initiative and to support and supervise staff is essential.

As part of your application, you will need to complete your education and work history and upload a supporting statement. Your supporting statement is the most important part of your application as it will be used in the shortlisting process to assess whether you meet the essential requirements for the role that are set out in the person specification and to decide whether you should be offered an interview. Before you start your application, please read our guidance here (Supporting statement guidance (brighton-hove.gov.uk)) as this gives important advice which will increase your chance of success in the shortlisting process.

Work Permits: This role does not meet the requirement for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System. Successful candidates will need to evidence that they have the Right to Work in the UK.
