Job introduction

The vision of the Diocese of Chichester is to help people within the Diocese to know, love and follow Jesus. Based at the Diocesan Office at Church House, Hove, we serve the people of the Diocese across more than 360 parishes, more than 150 church schools and the wider community as a whole. We wish to appoint an Education Administrator to join our Education Team to co-ordinate and service Education department events and training, to send communications to Headteachers and provide administrative support to officers in the team.

About the role

The role is key to supporting our Education Team and no two days are the same. Your duties will include: • Being the first point of contact for telephone callers to the department • Organizing and coordinating Year 6 Leaver Services across the Diocese • Administration of Education department conferences and training courses – both in person and online • Administration of School Partnership Agreements • Sending regular communications to Headteachers and updating the Education section of the Diocesan website • Providing administrative and secretarial support to the department officers – including taking minutes and servicing meetings We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills: • Excellent IT skills, including practical experience of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Experience of using Eventbrite and Zoom • Excellent interpersonal skills • Good customer care • A high level of numeracy and literacy The post holder is required to support the ethos, aims and objectives of the Diocese and the Church of England. The role is based in Hove, and we offer additional benefits such as free parking, a range of staff development activities and the Diocesan Pension Scheme with 15.1% employer contribution. We are flexible regarding how and when the hours are spread within the working week and there will be the opportunity to apply to use the DBF’s remote working policy.
