This is an exciting time for Redbridge as we are seeking experienced Senior Practitioner to join our busy team.
In our recent Ofsted Inspection (September 2016), the review of the effectiveness of Services for children in need of help and protection, children looked after, care leavers and the LSCB was judged to be 'Good'.
The Community Social Work Service is a well-established and dynamic safeguarding service working primarily with children and their families living within the local community. The casework is largely focused upon children who are subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans living within families affected by multiple issues including domestic abuse, substance misuse and parental mental health. The teams also work with Children Looked After by the Local Authority and children subject to public law court proceedings.
The service is comprised of four self-motivated and lively teams of social workers and senior practitioners, all of whom are committed to providing high quality and flexible work with children. The service has a culture of accessible and supportive management and is committed to the development of individual staff members regardless of their experience. The service has well established relationships with local statutory and voluntary partners with whom they work closely in order to effectively safeguard children and is open to learning and developing in accordance with changing local needs.
Workers receive regular, analytical supervision on a monthly basis in addition to on-going support as required
Workers have manageable caseloads that take into account the composition of CP and CiN, court work and sibling group sizes
Each worker has their own desk as well as equipment to work remotely and the LA is committed to flexible working
The service is a mature and well-established one with a sense of community spirit and good working relationships with co-located teams in LAC, fostering / adoption and placements
You will have a detailed understanding of the Children's Act(1989), relevant legislation policies and procedures; be HCPC registered and have a recognised social work qualification. As part of our safer recruitment strategy, all Social Worker posts require an Enhanced DBS check and references may be taken up prior to interview.
