Job introduction

Specialist Teacher of the Deaf visiting Deaf children in their homes and educational settings to support inclusion 0-25 years.

Educational Audiology role also available.

Two posts: 0.6FTE and 0.7FTE

Start date: January 2022 

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Teachers of the Deaf to join our Sensory Needs Team on a part-time basis. 

We provide high quality advice, support, and training for children with Deafness, their schools and families.  The Service works across Brighton & Hove and supports children throughout the age range, from birth to 25 years.

About the role

If you are:-

  • A Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (or a qualified teacher with relevant experience and willing to train)
  • Committed to providing high quality educational opportunities for children with SEN
  • Committed to working in partnership with families, education professionals and other agencies
  • Able to demonstrate an organised and flexible approach to your work
  • Committed to promoting inclusion
  • Have experience of outreach or consultancy work in schools
  • Willing to train in British Sign Language

Educational Audiology would also be an advantage.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
