Internal Audit Practitioner (Level 4 Apprenticeship)

Against this background, a professional, independent and objective internal audit service is vital for promoting good governance, risk management and internal control across the Council. Internal Audit has a key role in Tower Hamlets in helping accomplish the Council’s priorities and objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal control, risk management and governance processes.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our high-profile Internal Audit service for an Internal Audit Practitioner (a level 4 apprenticeship). You will be supporting the planning and delivery of the annual risk-based internal audit and fraud prevention plans and will actively participate in all aspects of internal audit activity including research, planning, interviews, testing and reporting writing ensuring that internal policies and procedures, as well as the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards are adhered to at all times. In return, we will provide the training, skills, and professional knowledge you’ll need not just to pass your exams, but also to become an exceptional Internal Auditor. You should ideally have five A*- C or 9 - 4 grade GCSEs, including Maths and English as well as at least two Level 3 qualifications in relevant subjects (includes AS-levels, a BTEC National or a level 3 NVQ) and be able to demonstrate knowledge of internal audit practice and the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards.
