Job introduction

Senior ICT Support Analyst – Infrastructure Engineering

Brighton & Hove City Council is recruiting to two professional IT & digital roles.  As a multidisciplinary team supporting end to end IT, information and data services for a wide range of internal and external customers, we are a strong department with skills in a range of enterprise technologies and industry standard methodologies.

We have established close ties with East Sussex County Council and Surrey County Council through Orbis, a shared service vehicle for delivering support services to all three partner organisations.  This is an exciting time to join our team and to help to shape and influence our ambitious ‘collaborate to integrate’ plans, building on our great track record of enabling inter-team working and facilitating internal career progression.

Brighton & Hove is a vibrant, digitally innovative and connected city, at the heart of its city region and at the centre of a number of local and regional initiatives with public, private and 3rd sector partners, offering opportunities to engage with a variety of stakeholders and partners and really make a difference to people who live and work here.  We offer a flexible working scheme and modern well-appointed office accommodation in the heart of the city, close to the seafront. Flexible working technologies mean that hybrid working from other locations is part of our working practice.

About the role

As Senior ICT Infrastructure Analysts, the two successful candidates will work within an experienced IT&D Infrastructure Engineering team to provide essential Project and BAU support of the organisation`s Network & Security, Compute & Storage, Directory Services & Collaboration & Endpoint Management Infrastructure Services.

You will be working in a secure environment with sensitive data, therefore a good understanding and experience of Data Security and Compliance is a prerequisite for this role.

In addition to meeting the above criteria we are seeking a professional who has a demonstrable employment background as a Senior Server Support Analyst within a large Enterprise environment. The individual will be a team player who is equally comfortable working on own initiative.

The role includes an option to work on an out of hours standby rota (paid) in addition to core hours

If you feel you are a good fit for one or more of the roles we are advertising, we want to hear from you.  Please read the application pack carefully and ensure that your supporting statement addresses as many points as possible from the Person Specification, with supporting examples.

Interview date: To be confirmed

For an informal discussion, please contact Chris Bulley - ICT Service Manager on 07701283106.

CV + supporting statement

As part of your application, you will need to upload your CV and a supporting statement. Your supporting statement is the most important part of your application as it will be used in the shortlisting process to assess whether you meet the essential requirements for the role that are set out in the person specification and to decide whether you should be offered an interview. Before you start your application, please read our guidance here (CV guidance (brighton-hove.gov.uk) and Supporting statement guidance (brighton-hove.gov.uk)) as this gives important advice which will increase your chance of success in the shortlisting process.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
