An exciting opportunity has arisen within our school-based Specialist Education and Training Support Service (SEaTSS).
SEaTSS is a large multi-disciplinary specialist teacher team consisting of about 50 staff members, 4 teams, 2 Deputy Heads, 4 senior teachers and Head of Service supported by a team of approximately 30 teachers, 6 HTLA’s and 3 technicians.
We are looking to appoint highly self-motivated individuals to support the current management team to develop and expand our service.
The service is re-focussing its priorities, moving away from supporting children and young people with EHCPs towards a more flexible early intervention model.
Our Service is divided into 4 teams are as follows:
- ASC/Soc Comm/Assoc Behaviour
- Cognition & Learning/SpLD/Assoc Behaviour
- Early intervention/Special Projects/Training
The current vacancy is for a SpLD teacher. The role is an exciting opportunity to work across a range of schools and ages. This is dynamic role, and we are looking for a professional who is wanting to make a big impact across a variety of settings (both Primary and Secondary age).
This role will involve a mix of training/ upskilling school staff, and more individualised assessment.
Currently our approach and the role would support two different approaches.
Class/ Phase/ School awareness and provision – in terms of environment, training and modelling how to support a range of difficulties in the classroom.
We also offer more targeted assessments with individual students, which will then inform the next steps for the school. student and family
A large part of the role will involve training and modelling to staff and families to develop greater awareness of the range of ways support for SpLD needs can be delivered.
You will work closely with our specialist SpLD HLTA, ICT tech team and share some students with the PD Team who support Dyspraxia.
This is an opportunity to work in a large highly skilled multi professional Team, and to have direct input in change for students who have SpLD.
If you have been a SENCO, specialist teacher, SEND teacher, if you have experience of training or delivering interventions or similar experience this may be the opportunity for you. We are looking for people who have positive, open and creative problem-solving approach who can add to our already extensive skill base and we can offer you a wide-ranging training and support ethos which we feel will develop your professional knowledge.
