Peabody has a new exciting opportunity available for a Hoarding coordinator, working 30 hrs per week within the Sevenoaks local authority area. This innovative service, funded by Sevenoaks District council is looking to support people exhibiting hoarding behaviours to address and reduce risks connected to their hoarding.

You will work with and support customers in their homes, enabling them to live in relative safety. Working directly with customers, you will ensure they are supported to make choices towards a healthier and happier life, and that their physical and mental health will be improved.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and experienced coordinator who can deliver one to one support to clients within their homes, building trust and helping them to accept help to address their hoarding with a view to clearing essential living spaces. Previous experience of supporting people who hoard would be desirable, however, direct experience of working with people experiencing mental health issues is essential for the role.  A commitment to service user involvement and an ability to communicate with a wide range of people is also required.

Key requirements for the role include:

  • Must be able to drive and have access to a car
  • Knowledge, experience and understanding the needs of vulnerable people either in a professional or volunteering role.
  • Demonstrable experience in achieving designated outcomes for customers.
  • Motivated and able to work using own initiative and with minimum direct support.

You will be working as part of the Home Straight team based within various locations across Kent and forming part of the wider Home Improvement agency team.

This job role is being offered initially on a fixed term contract until 31st August 2023 in line with the funding available. This is offered as a secondment opportunity to internal applicants.

Please note: If your application is short listed, there will be initial telephone screening for the role and if successful you will be invited to attend a video interview.

Pro Rata explained: A ‘pro rata’ salary is calculated from what you would earn if you were working full time. You will be paid a proportion of the displayed full-time salary.

At Peabody, where possible, we provide flexible working opportunities from day one to our employees, as we recognise the importance of a good work-life balance; and to improve our productivity and performance, we embrace agile working, which means if you are in a desk based role, that will be a hybrid of office and home working. We want to attract recruit and retain a diverse, inclusive and creative workforce to give us the best opportunity to meet the diverse needs of our residents and customers.
