Job introduction

We are looking to recruit a number of Care Crew bank staff to join Residential Services, Older People:  Ireland Lodge - Woodingdean; Craven Vale - Brighton; Wayfield Ave - Hove

Given the current Covid restrictions in place and government guidance successful applicants will only be able to work in one care setting at anytime so this role may not be suitable for people who are looking to supplement their income and keep an existing care job.

This is a real chance to make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable people in these very challenging times. You'll be working with teams delivering support to people to meet their care needs and enhance their sense of well-being in the knowledge that you are contributing to keeping key services running safely and efficiently. You will receive support and supervision as part of your work, and have the option of working in varied settings.

The hourly salary is £10.01 plus enhancements for weekend, night and bank and with our external benefits provider you can get discounts with high street retailers such as Sainsbury's, Marks & Spencer, Argos and Boots via our external benefits provider.

Closing date: 15 February 2022

Interview date:  TBC

For an informal discussion, please contact Sarah Lines, Operations Manager, 01273 295880

About the role

We aim to provide empowering care which supports service users to live fulfilling lives, maintaining / regaining life skills and independence. We are looking for people who are motivated to support service users in this way and who are comfortable supporting people with personal care, and have good communication skills to build positive relationships with service users, their families and other professionals.

If you enjoy helping people and want to make a difference to their lives, and you feel you have the skills required, we would very much like to hear from you.

We welcome applications from those with no prior experience in social care. Working as a Care Crew worker gives flexibility to work around you daily life. Shifts include earlies, lates, weekends and nights.

As part of your application, you will need to complete your education and work history and provide answers to some shortlisting questions. Your answers to the shortlisting questions are the most important part of your application as they will be used in the shortlisting process to assess whether you meet the essential requirements for the role that are set out in the person specification and to decide whether you should be offered an interview.
