Reporting to the Practice Learning and Reviewing Manager, the Practice Learning Reviewers are experienced senior social workers or team mangers with a proven track record of practice improvement and experience of auditing within a quality assurance framework.

Working to the Quality Assurance and Learning framework, Practice Learning Reviewers actively collaborate to embed practice standards, drive service improvement and support operational teams and partner agencies to use quality assurance activity to assist in improving outcomes for children.

Practice Learning Reviewers are confident in using data and thematic reviews to inform improvement activity and have experience of developing and delivering a range of quality assurance activities and tools.

The Practice Learning Reviewer Team works cohesively together to share expertise, utilise reflection and promote excellence within the social care workforce, thus improving outcomes for Newham children.

You will be committed to improving practice through creating and maintaining positive partnership relationships within your operational arena, acting as a ‘critical friend’ and providing constructive advice to improve outcomes for the children and families of Newham. 

Your role will require you to use both quantitative and qualitative data to raise practice standards through reviewing and developing practice. You will be an advocate for excellence and be a key role in the continuous development of the quality and assurance service and in your operational arenas. You will be committed to Newham’s practice model of a restorative approach with systemic practice across all services, and will instil a positive auditing culture in your team that is beneficial to these aims.

We're looking for confident senior practitioners with significant experience of auditing within Quality Assurance. You are full of energy and enthusiasm, taking a creative but pragmatic approach to supporting your team towards improving practice across children’s social care, you work well autonomously and within a team environment and promote cohesive working. You already embrace our people focused values and want to be an active part of our collective ‘Newham Together’ journey. You want to make a difference.

You will have an experience of delivering upon service and practice improvement being an experienced qualified Social Worker with experience of leading and/or managing a team of Social Workers.  You have high working standards and have the skills and ability to present and communicate information to inform learning at strategic, operational and individual practitioner level.  You are conscious of your own professional development, actively seeking avenues of learning and improvement.
