We are looking for a Public Health Specialist to join our Public Health Intelligence team and lead our programme of Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA).

About the role
This post is to lead on the Brighton & Hove Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), focussing on specific geographical areas, population groups or health and wellbeing issues.
The postholder will work with and engage key stakeholders across the city, including the community and voluntary sector and local people to obtain, analyse, interpret and publish information which contributes to our understanding of factors that influence the health and wellbeing, and health inequalities, in Brighton & Hove.
We are seeking someone with experience of using both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, a good understanding of the wider determinants of health, as well as experience of working with a range of partners including those in the NHS, Local Authorities and the Community and Voluntary Sector.
We are looking for someone who will provide specialised advice on health and social care intelligence, statistics and statistical techniques - will develop qualitative work within the JSNA, working closely with local communities and organisations - is highly numerate, with strong analytical skills, and able to critically review evidence.
Being able to analyse complex data and present to a range of different audiences, to manage a number of projects to deadline and develop good working relationships and to manage the commissioning of needs assessments is key.
