Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.

Work Redbridge, the Councils employment support and brokerage service is seeking to grow the team to help deliver our Economic Recovery Programme in response to increasing levels of unemployment. In order to support more residents into jobs and to progress in their careers, and to support employers with their recruitment and skill needs, we are seeking applications for the following post:

We are seeking a specialist employment advisor to join the Work Redbridge team.  You will work closely with the commissioned Integrated Substance Misuse Treatment and Recovery Service provider to identify residents affected by substance misuse who could benefit from employment related activity; advice and support to help them engage with training, volunteering, work experience and progression into employment.

You will manage a caseload of clients, providing one to one information, advice and guidance and group sessions where applicable, with a focus on supporting vulnerable residents, particularly those affected by substance misuse issues (who are in recovery) and mental health issues, into sustainable employment pathways, with a focus on increasing economic well-being and reducing dependency on public sector resources.

If you are interested in this role, we would love to hear from you!
