We are looking for a skilled, collaborative and reliable Bank Chef to join our outstanding catering team. Your role will consist of supporting both our Executive Chefs and Sous Chefs during periods of low staffing, holidays or busy periods. This role could potentially involve leading a team and providing support and guidance to the brigade. The Bank Chef will be essential to upholding Baycroft dining standards that we are providing in our homes for all of our residents.
Location: Flitwick, Fairfield and Kempston (travel will be required).
Salary: £12.55 per hour including holiday pay
Working Hours: 0-hour contract. 7:00-19:00 across the 7 days including weekends and bank holidays when required.
• Overseeing and providing direction for all day-to-day operations in the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
• When needed, co-ordinating the work of the kitchen brigade to ensure that food presentation is technically correct, and of outstanding quality
• To display exceptional leadership by providing a positive motivational work environment
• Maintain the safety of self and others at all times and report any accidents or dangerous occurrences immediately to the Home Manager
• To be willing to complete all duties including some food preparation, cooking, cleaning up and sometimes serving when needed

• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate - essential
• Level 2 Health and Safety - essential
• Infection control – required
• Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) training - essential
• Preparation and Presentation of modified diets – required
• Awareness of wider COSHH legislation - essential
• Awareness of wider Food hygiene legislation - essential
