Procurement and Project Officer
The Housing Property Services department at Islington Council is seeking an experienced Procurement and Project Officer.
The department provides a responsive repairs and maintenance service to council tenants and leaseholders across the borough. This involves delivering over 80,000 individual repair jobs each year. These jobs are completed by the department’s in-house direct works teams with the support of a number of external trade and specialist contractors.
We are looking for a candidate experienced and skilled in the successful delivery of compliant procurement processes within a local authority setting alongside a good understanding of project management techniques with experience of delivering projects which have resulted in positive change to services.
Comfortable working in a high pressure environment you will be able to confidently manage often conflicting priorities and work effectively both in a team and also individually using your initiative to push procurements and projects forward with the ability to spot issues and potential risks and identify ways in which they can be resolved or mitigated. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with and a wide range of other stakeholders from within and outside of the department influencing and securing commitment in order to achieve objectives and overcoming problems to meet agreed deadlines.
