Job introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our Banking & Income Allocation Team as a Banking & Income Apprentice studying the Assistant Accountant Level 3 apprenticeship .

You will work in the small but high volume banking & income allocation team which is part of the Business Operations service, working collaboratively in the ORBIS partnership with East Sussex and Surrey County Councils.

This role offers a variety of responsibilities and is a good insight in to finance transactional services whilst offering the opportunity to undertake a well-recognised accounting apprenticeship.

The Assistant Accountant at level 3 is run by East Sussex College Group (any face-to-face delivery is offered from the Newhaven Campus), who are responsible for supporting you with your learning and carrying out assessments. The course has core modules to complete and a number of optional units. Your work experience will be linked to the modules and units in your course. You will receive additional support from a nominated mentor, throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship.

About the role

Apprentices will study the Assistant Accountant Level 3 standard and learn to provide high quality and customer focussed support to services banking income; enabling services to utilise banking and encashment facilities in accordance with statutory legislation and best practice. Also learning to effectively respond to high volume queries and ensuring accurate and timely income allocation. 

Apprentices without evidence of level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to completing training and you may be required to take an English and Maths assessment prior to a formal offer being made.

Interviews: Thursday 17th December; if successful then a further interview with course provider on 18th December and English & Maths assessments will be required. 

Provisional Start Date: 11th - 25th January 2021; college start date 25th January.

The duration of the apprenticeship will be up to 18 months.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System.
