Planning Policy Officer (Information and Monitoring)
Grade SO2-PO2 (£32,418 - £37,722) subject to experience, career graded post.
Waltham Forest is pursuing a challenging agenda for regeneration and growth across the borough with a desire to meet demanding housing targets through quality development. We are looking to recruit a Planning Policy Officer to carry out information and monitoring duties and support our Local Plan work. This is a career graded post. The successful candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with qualification, competency and experience, with opportunity to progress.
The role primarily involves collecting and collating planning data, maintaining and retrieving information from database systems and preparing regular monitoring reports. You will have a crucial role in monitoring and analysing data to provide feedback on the effectiveness of planning policies and the preparation of the Council’s Local Plan and supplementary planning documents. This permanent full-time position requires someone with demonstrable experience of this role in local government or other sector, but experience in a planning or environmental field would be helpful.
The Council seeks highly motivated individuals to carry out this work. We are looking for a highly organised individual with a flexible and adaptable approach to work, who can work to deadlines with attention to detail. The successful candidate will be a good team player who has strong numerical and report writing skills.
