Tarnerland Nursery School is for children aged from 3 months to 5 years it is funded by the Local Education Authority in partnership with the Council’s Children’s & Family Services and is part of the Tarner Children’s Centre.

About the role
We are looking for Nursery Assistants to join our team, each to work in one of our age ranges as a Key Person for a group of children. You will require an excellent knowledge of the EYFS and practical experience of planning and assessing for children.
Tarnerland caters for three age groups Lookers and Explorers (0- 2years) Players and Pretenders ( 2-3 years) and Carers and Creators ( 3-4years).
Applicants must have a relevant childcare qualification and experience in working with children under five years in an Early Years environment. Experience of child protection/safeguarding work would be advantageous, as would experience of working with children with additional needs.

Tarnerland Nursery School is situated in central Brighton we offer the opportunity to work with a highly skilled and diverse team in spacious indoor and outdoor environments, including our lovely ‘meadow’.
We are open 49 weeks per year (closing at Christmas) and offer up to 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Training opportunities are available including at least 3 in-service training days per year.
