Join Camden’s new estates management service   

We are looking for talented people to join our new estates management service which launches in 2020. A local team to support residents and keep their homes clean and safe, this new service will play an important part in our communities and has been shaped by the people who call our council houses home.

Estates management is hugely important to the council and residents. The newly launched service will include highly trained caretakers who will be focused on providing a more local service and keeping our residents safe. 

The role

Estates Management plays an important part in contributing to the success of Camden 2025, specifically, ‘safe, strong and open communities’, we know the service is of huge importance to residents and the Council. Estates Management is a new model of service that provides more caretakers, who are highly trained and part of a wider housing team supporting residents. The model will increase the visibility of caretakers for residents and provide a more local service whilst ensuring there is a joined up approach to delivering on health and safety and anti-social behaviour.

This role will improve performance and quality across the service by analysing trends to identify service-wide issues and define the solutions needed to make improvements.

You will work closely with colleagues to investigate and identify issues impeding the service’s ability to achieve a high quality cleaning service due to current conditions and various other mitigating factors. This will involve property audits where caretaking services are provided; ensuring KPI’s and quality measures are being met, ensuring compliance with fire safety initiatives, compiling data to inform trends issues and solutions as well as assist in the design and instruction of a new set of performance standards.

To succeed, you’ll apply analysis and intelligence and report on management information to influence performance and outcomes, including: pulling together robust evidence based programmes with recommendations for improvement for managers, quality data and information to assist in driving through performance and data that identifies root causes to prevent reoccurrences and improve customer care enabling the service to achieve required standards and consistency.


About you

The post holder will be expected to work creatively and to apply sound judgement with a robust organised approach and commitment to deliver excellence and a high quality service.

You will possess the ability to listen and understand resident demands and sensitively identify solutions – experience of handling complex issues and achieving solutions is key. You’ll have excellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations and write appropriate reports informing local teams, services and committees.

Alongside this, you’ll have excellent time management and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and work well under pressure.

A team player, you’ll bring a pragmatic, collaborative and determined approach to your work with a passion for driving improvement and ensuring effective service delivery.
