Ealing is London's third largest borough, located in the heart of west London and home to more than 340,000 residents and over 13,000 businesses; Ealing is one of London’s most successful boroughs at attracting new developments and regenerating its housing stock.


You will form part of an operational team that provides a central support function to various teams in the Landlord Services and Housing Demand Division. These services are sat in the new ‘Place Directorate’.


This is a very exciting and interesting role for someone that loves a good mix in a role and its positive challenge. This role is responsible for the annual rent setting and has a mix of finance and systems support. It is a role that will expose the candidate to knowledge in various areas of housing but also develop them with the right skills into future managers.


You will:


Lead on the annual rent setting project, ensuring accurate completion of rents calculations and tenant’s notification within legal requirements.


Lead on the annual direct debit and standing order calculation for all relevant tenants ensuring accuracy, completeness and tenants’ notification.


Work with the Central Systems & Finance Manager on business, plan, budget and effective monthly monitoring, ensuring effective variance management.


Lead on preparation for hosing rents audits (internal and external) working together with other relevant teams and its successful completion


Manage the rents systems and finance officers to accurately complete complex reconciliations within deadline and without errors, ensuring all variances are promptly investigated and fully resolved.


Have systems knowledge and experience of at least a housing management system in addition to other related systems and be able to support users, innovative, troubleshoot issues and resolve them. 


Lead on the housing service year-end closing of accounts working together with finance.


Be responsible for completing various government returns and liaising with regulatory bodies on enquiries.


Lead on the successful completion of the project on robust recharging of services charges to tenants.


Be able to understand and present IT system specifications or complex information clearly to a wide variety of audience.


Initiate and deliver projects that will generate income or deliver savings or reduce expenditure.


Ealing currently has more than 11,000 retained housing units as well as nomination rights to registered provider accommodation across the borough. More Affordable Housing is a central plank of the Councils ‘Future Ealing’ agenda, Ealing’s major transformation programme.


This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role.  This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
