You have experience of delivering training products and working with young people, or in a youth setting.  All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Aquarius as a Practitioner in our Derby Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service.

Run in partnership with Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Phoenix Future, The Derby Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service provides adults with a wide range of support, no matter what kind of alcohol or drugs they are using. Right now, we’re looking for a self-motivated individual with significant experience of individual client work in an addictions or social care setting to join us. Your challenge? To provide advice, assessment, brief and structured interventions, group programmes and training courses to individuals, families and couples. You’ll do so working not only from Aquarius offices, but also in primary care, arrest referral, hospital and youth settings and other outreach settings according to the service specification. We’ll also rely on you to take the lead in recruiting, training, placing and supporting Volunteers and Peer Mentors to help deliver the service. And, when it comes to developing opportunities, initiatives and activities that support the development of a recovery community in the area the service operates, again, we’ll count on you to deliver.

An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. As well as good knowledge of alcohol/drug and health related issues, you're used to liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and comfortable engaging with clients in a variety of service delivery settings. What’s more, you have a flexible approach, a commitment to the principles of confidentiality and the ability to write client records and report and fulfil data requirements.

The salary for this role is £20,015.00 per annum with potential progression up to £23,420.00 per annum.
