You will provide outstanding customer care, within a highprofile and vital Council service that supports to the day to day activities ofall residents, business and the thousands of daily visitors to the area.
You willplay a significant role in reducing traffic congestion and improving airquality through the enforcement of parking restrictions. More importantly, as amember of the Council, will play a key role in providing information and adviceto the general public.
To carry out Parking and TrafficEnforcement throughout the Borough through the issue of Penalty Charge Notices.
To identifyand report vehicles for possible removal for the reason of being parked incontravention of the relevant restrictions or for being abandoned.
As required work as part of atwo-person crew on the removal of vehicles, directing the removal and assistingwith the removal operation.
Enforceparking and traffic regulations on the highway and in car parks through theissue of Penalty Charge Notices.
To identify and request removal of vehiclesparked in infringement, abandoned or untaxed.
When working as part of a two personcrew, authorise the removal of vehicles in accordance with the Council’scriteria and all relevant legislation, guidance and codes of practice.
To report defective parkingequipment signs, and lines.
To report issues requiring investigation and/or actionby other services within Tower Hamlets (e.g. defective street lights, signs,litter, rubbish left out for collection, graffiti and fly tipping).
The personwould require a general standard of education, be able to work on their owninitiative and also have the abillity to communicate at all levels and handlepotential difficult situations.
The rolerequires working a 35 hour week (Mon-Fri) in a daily shift pattern between08:00 - 18:00 and the person should be fit and able to walk several milesper day outdoors in all types of weather.
The role also requires the person tohave good concise and clear handwriting when making notes be a good team playerwith excellent attendance.
The person must be legally entitled to work in the UK
